Um tipo de embarcação de grande porte é o navio porta-contêiner da classe Sammax (a maior disponível na América do Sul), que pode chegar a medir 336 metros de comprimento, 48 metros de largura e 15,2 de calado máximo. Foi um navio dessa classe que o Porto de Suape recebeu nessa quinta-feira (23), pela primeira vez. E desatracou na manhã desta sexta (24).
A embarcação MSC NITYA B, pertencente à companhia MSC – Mediterranean Shipping Company, atracou no cais 2 para o desembarque de 233 contêineres e embarque de 55, num total de 288 movimentados. O navio veio do Porto de Valência (Espanha) e deixou Suape, ao nascer do dia, com destino ao Porto de Salvador (Bahia). A embarcação possui 330 metros de comprimento (LOA), capacidade para transportar 12 mil TEUs (unidade equivalente a um contêiner de 20 pés) e 15,2 metros de calado máximo (distância medida entre a lâmina d’água e fundo da embarcação). Navios desse tipo só podem atracar em portos com grande profundidade e infraestrutura adequada.
Anteriormente, o maior porta-contêiner que havia atracado no porto pernambucano tinha 305 metros de comprimento e 48,2 metros de largura. No ano passado, a Portaria Suape 136/2019 estabeleceu parâmetros operacionais e de manobra de navios para que Suape pudesse receber embarcações com até 336,99 metros de comprimento total e 48,99 metros de largura máxima (boca máxima). A viabilidade para receber a classe Sammax foi comprovada através de estudo da Universidade de São Paulo (USP), contratado no início do ano passado.
“Receber megaconteineiros é condição primordial para que Suape se consolide como hub port nacional, por isso a primeira ação de nossa gestão foi contratar esse estudo. A participação da Praticagem de Pernambuco, da Capitania dos Portos de Pernambuco e da Marinha do Brasil foi fundamental desde o planejamento desse processo, passando pela simulação em São Paulo, treinamento e avaliação contínua, até este momento onde recebemos, com sucesso, a primeira operação”, comemora o presidente de Suape, Leonardo Cerquinho. “Todos os envolvidos trabalharam com muito profissionalismo”.
Para realizar manobras de entrada e atracação ou saída e desatracação, é necessário o emprego de alguns requisitos, como atuação de pelo menos dois práticos a bordo e as manobras devem ocorrer somente com luz natural. Além disso, deve-se utilizar o mínimo de três rebocadores. Uma vez atracado, o navio pode operar em qualquer horário, já que o Porto de Suape funciona durante 24 horas. “Suape é um porto de classe mundial, tem águas profundas, localização estratégica e profissionais capacitados para garantir uma atracação segura, estamos preparados para as grandes embarcações”, salienta o diretor de gestão portuária, Paulo Coimbra.
Líder na movimentação de contêineres na região Nordeste, Suape fechou o primeiro semestre deste ano com 230.504 TEUs e 2,4% de crescimento em relação ao mesmo período de 2019. No ano passado, bateu recorde histórico na carga conteinerizada com o total de 476.304 mil TEUs e 4,7% de aumento em relação a 2018.
